LLOYD L. & LOUISE K. SMITH MEMORIAL FOUNDATION AWARDS $204,750 TO OHIO NONPROFITS

The Lloyd L. and Louise K. Smith Memorial Foundation capped its 2011 grant cycle with $204,750 in awards to local nonprofit organizations.

Recipients were:

• Access Inc., for emergency shelter programming, $2,500.

• Act II Production-The Illusion Factory, for actors’ rehearsal salaries, $1,200.

• Advocates for the Akron Visual and Performing Arts Inc., for spring musical for Akron Public Schools, $500.

• Akron Art Museum, for exhibition lectures, $4,000.

• Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, for general operating and endowment, $12,000.

• Akron Community Service Center and Urban League, for School’s In program, $2,500.

• Akron Inner City Soccer Club, for camp programs, $500.

• Akron Marathon Charitable Corp., for Road Runner Akron Marathon, $500.

• Akron Rotary Camp for Special Children Inc., for general operations and capital campaign, $2,500.

• Akron Symphony Orchestra, for Education and outreach opportunities, $7,000.

• Akron Women’s City Club-Coach House Theatre, for theater renovation, $1,500.

• Akron Zoological Park, for Journey to the Reef exhibit, $2,500.

• All-Star Training Club, for scholarship program, $500.
