FREEPORT COMMUNITY FOUNDATION PRESENTS SPRING 2012 GRANTS TO NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS

The Freeport Community Foundation Board of Directors recently awarded seven grants to area nonprofit organizations.

The money, totaling $30,592.78, will be used to run programs and services to benefit northern Illinois. Grants came from the Freeport Community Needs Fund and the Matthews A. Marvin Fund.

Organizations that received awards include $1,750 for Assault and Abuse Services of Stephenson County; $6,000 for NHS and FACC; $3,889.28 for RAMP; $6,000 for Sojourn House; $6,168.50 for The Public Health Foundation of NWIL; $1,990 for CareerTEC; and $4,795 for Freeport School District 145’s Middle School Anti-Bullying Committee.

The Freeport Community Foundation is a charitable organization that looks for financial solutions to community needs. Grants are awarded twice a year and proposals for the next set of grants are due by Oct. 1 with awards being announced Nov. 1.

The foundation is located at 524 W. Stephenson St.,  #101.
